From Brokenness

It's a long drive west, and then the ferry;
Put all the tablets away.
Just you and me and the earth and the sea.
Just cattle browsing beside the beach.
It's a long crossing, dolphins swimming alongside.
It's a long way west, and then a headland.
A skittering of marine remnants bleached white
crunch, crunch, crunch.
Soft white sand, sunlight glinting off water.
Hold my hand and we'll step in,
One foot, two feet,
clear clear water, salt, clear, cold.
Washing away. Washing away.
Water lapping our ankles. Infinite.
