The way someone feels
About somebody else?
It's smaller and squishier
Than at first it appears.
Those feelings, - enormous,
Colossal, titanic -
Turns out they can turn
Quite pedestrian
Quite soon.
Until you look
At the person
Who meant everything,
Who you knew,
Absolutely.
And those feelings
You knew would last
Forever
Forever.
And you see -
Just another bloke.
And all those
Cinematic feelings
Reduce to indifference
Or worse.
You're in the small,
Squishy feelings now.
No more heavenly choirs.
Just the human condition.
