At the edge

Rain falls all day. Rain, rain, rain.
Late afternoon, we finally move,
Get dressed, shoes on, in the car.
Do the chores. Back to the
Shop to exchange the broken toy.
Groceries. Dvd's. Now walk the dogs.
A grey rainy beach, still raining
Still wet. Suddenly, as the waves
Give chase, everything glows anew.
And you shout at the sea in defiance.
And the sea shouts back.
And we stand at the edge of the world.
