Not quite touching

On the polished stainless steel counter,
Two paintings. One at first.
All light blue and dark blue and white.
A curving semi circle, smooth lines,
Something serene and contented.
Arriving next to it, a second picture,
Sharp angles and edginess, strange
Flowers in pink and silver on tall
Silver stalks. Lying there, the two
Images rectangular against the
Stainless steel counter.
These two extremes,
Not quite touching.
